Club History

In brief The Idle Wild Hot Rod Club was established in 1975 by a few passionate hot rodding enthusiasts in a back yard shed and has grown to be the largest and most successful hot rod club in Australia, boasting well over 100 active members.

The Prospect branch was formed in 2005.

The Idle Wild HRC currently has 4 branches in NSW, being Liverpool, Prospect, Penrith & Bankstown, with expansion into other states within it’s vision.

The club also has it’s own clubhouse based in Liverpool.

Some of our continuous activities consist of:

  • Annual Memorial Day Hot Rod Show
  • Annual Wisemans Ferry 3 Day Rod & Custom Run
  • Annual Exhibition at the Sydney Royal Easter Show opening each year
  • Annual Prospect Hot Rod & Custom Show
  • Monthly Appearances at Harry’s Cafe DeWheels
  • Fund Raisers (Miracle Babies, Westmead Children’s Hospital, Vic Bushfire Appeal, Rett Syndrome etc...)
  • Ongoing features on ‘Rodder’s Life’ TV Series (Foxtel)
  • Plus much more....
